[Part 02] SHE SIGNED THE DIVORCE PAPERS WITHOUT A WORD…

The Signature That Changed Everything

The room went quiet the moment Isabella picked up the pen.

Not dramatic quiet.

Not emotional quiet.

The kind of silence that feels… final.

Diego leaned back in his chair, already smiling like the outcome was guaranteed.

Camila didn’t even bother to look up from her phone.

To them—

This moment was already over.

Isabella glanced down at the papers one last time.

Not because she needed to read them.

But because she wanted to remember this exact feeling.

Not anger.

Not heartbreak.

Clarity.

Two years.

Two years of giving everything to a man who now looked at her like she was nothing more than a mistake he wanted erased.

Two years of building something he would take full credit for.

Two years of loving someone who had already moved on… before the marriage even ended.

“Go on,” Diego said impatiently. “You’re not negotiating your way into more money, Isabella. That ship has sailed.”

She didn’t respond.

Instead—

She signed.

One page.

Then another.

Then another.

Her hand didn’t shake.

Her breathing didn’t change.

And that, more than anything—

Made Diego frown.

Because this wasn’t how it was supposed to go.

She wasn’t crying.

She wasn’t begging.

She wasn’t fighting.

She was… calm.

When she finished, she placed the pen down neatly.

Then slid the papers back across the table.

“Done,” she said quietly.

Diego blinked.

“That’s it?” he asked. “No speech? No drama?”

Isabella shook her head slightly.

“No.”

Camila finally looked up.

“Wow,” she said with a laugh. “That was even easier than I thought.”

Diego smirked again, picking up the papers.

“Well, that’s that.”

But then—

Isabella did something unexpected.

She stood up.

Slowly.

Gracefully.

And instead of leaving—

She turned.

Not toward the door.

But toward the back of the room.

Toward the man in the charcoal suit.

Diego frowned.

“Isabella?” he said. “What are you doing?”

She didn’t answer him.

She walked past the table.

Past Camila.

Past everything Diego thought he controlled.

And stopped in front of the man they had completely ignored.

For a second—

Nothing happened.

Then—

She spoke.

Softly.

“Papa.”

The word hit the room like a shockwave.

Camila’s phone slipped from her hand.

Diego froze.

“What… did you just say?” he asked slowly.

The man in the charcoal suit stood up.

Calm.

Composed.

Powerful.

The kind of presence that didn’t need to raise its voice to dominate a room.

“Alejandro Mendoza,” Diego whispered.

Recognition hit him like a punch.

The owner of the building.

The man investors feared.

The billionaire who could make or destroy companies with a single decision.

And Isabella—

The woman he had just thrown away—

Was standing in front of him like she belonged there.

Because she did.

Alejandro looked at his daughter.

Not with pity.

Not with concern.

But with something deeper.

Pride.

“You signed?” he asked calmly.

Isabella nodded.

“Yes.”

A small pause.

Then—

“Good.”

Diego stood up abruptly.

“Wait,” he said. “What is this? What kind of joke is this?”

Alejandro turned his gaze toward him.

And in that moment—

Diego understood something terrifying.

This wasn’t a joke.

“This,” Alejandro said quietly, “is the moment you realize who you’ve been speaking to.”
