[Part 04] SHE SIGNED THE DIVORCE PAPERS WITHOUT A WORD…

The Fall Begins

“YOU CAN’T DO THAT!” Diego shouted.

The control was gone now.

Completely gone.

Alejandro didn’t react.

Because he didn’t need to.

“I already have,” he said calmly.

Diego grabbed his phone.

Hands shaking.

Opened his email.

And froze.

One message.

Then another.

Then another.

SUBJECT: Urgent — Investment Review
SUBJECT: Immediate Withdrawal Notice
SUBJECT: Emergency Board Meeting Required

His breathing became uneven.

“No…” he whispered.

Camila stood up, panic replacing her earlier arrogance.

“What’s happening?”

Diego didn’t answer.

Because he couldn’t.

His world—

The one he had built.

The one he had protected.

The one he had chosen over everything else—

Was collapsing in real time.

“This is illegal,” he said weakly.

Alejandro shook his head slightly.

“No. This is business.”

The same words Diego had used earlier.

Now turned against him.

Poetic.

Precise.

Deserved.

“You’re destroying me over a divorce?” Diego demanded.

Alejandro looked at Isabella briefly.

Then back at him.

“No,” he said.

“I’m destroying you because you mistook kindness for weakness.”

Silence.

“You thought my daughter was alone,” Alejandro continued.
“You thought she had no power. No protection. No value.”

Each word hit harder than the last.

“And because of that…”
“You showed me exactly what kind of man you are.”

Diego’s phone rang.

He answered immediately.

“WHAT?” he snapped.

Then—

Silence.

As he listened.

His face drained of color.

“They’re pulling out?” he whispered.

More silence.

“All of them?”

The call ended.

Diego lowered the phone slowly.

And for the first time—

He looked afraid.

Real fear.
